Bukit Hijau

My dad and I climbed Bukit Hijau last Saturday (11 February 2006) morning. Bukit Hijau is located off Jalan Tembaga in Island Park.

The climb took us about 30-40 minutes with brief stops on the way. The view at the summit is quite spectacular. On one side of the hill, the view stretches from the Penang Bridge to the Gurney Drive area. On the other side, you can see the turf club, Ayer Itam, Farlim and Paya Terubong.

We made it to the foot of the hill in about 20 minutes.

To get to the starting point, you can drive all the way to the end of Jalan Tembaga and park your car by the roadside. You'll see an arch of a temple (the name has the word "Acheh" on it). The start of the trail is at the back corner of a row of terrace houses, with steps leading up the hill.
